Wanaka Asphalt
Asphalt suits the central Otago seasonal weather from harsh winter’s to long hot summer months.

Asphalt has a softer look and is less prone to cracking compared to other surfacing materials.

Asphalt is ideal for Pot hole , and edge-break repairs, entrance ways and residential driveways.

Urban Concrete
Concrete is very popular, plain broom finish concrete is the least expensive while at the top end is exposed aggregate.

Both providing, low maintenance, none slip surfaces in the icey central Otago winter months.

Testimonials

MARY BRUCE & GEOFF ROGERS

Hemi Vincent of Mana Contracting recently (December 2019) constructed an asphalt driveway, parking precinct and associated landscaping and storm water drainage at our Mt. Barker Lifestyle property.

The project was a major makeover of our roadway entrance, driveway and visitor parking. The section contour added a degree of difficulty over that of a flat section.

We were highly impressed with the following aspects of the project:

  1. Hemi's aesthetic vision and conceptual design for what was previously just a rough piece of ground.
  2. His thorough and meticulous implementation of each stage of the construction process, especially the laying and compaction of repetitive layers of base coarse, foundation work.
  3. His strong work ethic.
  4. His adaptability to the variety of tasks and wide skill sets, including a stacked stone retaining wall.
  5. His engaging and affable communication style.
  6. For each stage, Hemi provided a briefing and sought client approval.
  7. Additionally he fostered a supportive and co-opperative relationship with sub-contractors, such as the asphalt laying crew.
  8. His financially, no-surprises management of the project.

Overall, the final product is a visual and functional transformation of our section.

We warmly welcome this opportunity to provide a testimonial and recommendation for Mana Contracting.

Ralph Smith

Hemi was a sub-contractor to Fulton Hogan Ltd for the development and sealing of my driveway. He took over the bulk of the work leaving only the metal supply and sealing to Fulton Hogan.

He proved to be meticulous and methodical in the route to take and checking levels for drainage etc.

Over lunch breaks we chattered and I found Hemi had a very interesting background to his work history and by what he had learnt on the way.

He had no time for smoko breaks and kept strictly to 30 minutes for lunch breaks.

He relished in working hard particularly in working out the border timber and support pegs being exacting to the levels he had established.

I mentioned on several occasions for him to slow down and take a break but this was not in his make-up as he always said it helps keep him fit and helps him in his boxing training which he is involved in, coaching a group in Wanaka on Saturdays.

While commanding a great physic he always arrived clean and tidy for work with a pleasant smile looking forward to carrying on from where he left off the previous day. His worksite was always tidy and he conformed to all health and safety rules.

I have worked in the contracting and engineering field most of my life and have yet to meet an employee to match Hemi, he is a rare individual and I was extremely appreciative of the standard he set, to which I am sure any of his future clients will be well pleased of his abilities in roading and landscaping.
